day: Guided bike tour with the guide to get to know the bikes and the island better. From the hotel it goes first into the green mountains of El Hierro. Small and very old hamlets like Tiñor are passed and the first coffee break is made in the highest village on the island, San Andrés (1050hm). Now it's going to be Scottish / Irish and it's going to be breathtaking Mirador de las Playas. Into the gigantic pine forest and picnic on the largest barbecue and camping site on the island. The bikes can also be reloaded here. A beautiful road leads through tree heather forest up to the Cruz de los Reyes (1,300 m). First look into that "Pineapple Valley" from Frontera, the remainder of a huge crater that long ago slid halfway into the sea. Back to San Andrés and in a rapid ride down to 680hm Mirador de la Peña, fantastic building by César Manrique, with a spectacular view of the golf valley. Another break, and now it's not far to Mocanal and the hotel. (approx. 52km and 1,350hm)
rd day: With the exact tour description, the island can now be explored on your own and on two wheels. The e-bikes are brought by the transporter after Frontera, and you take the bus from the hotel there and then back again later. The tour leads into the vineyards of the fertile valley with many charming views to the sea and the mountains. El Hierro is the largest pineapple producer in Spain, but the dry or fruity white wine and the earthy red wines are also of very good quality. The landmark of the valley and a good point of reference is the Bell tower, which is enthroned on a lava hill separately from the church. (approx. 32km and 800hm)
th day: Today it goes to the mostly sunny east coast, where there are some “summer villages” where the locals and their relatives like to spend the hot summer months. First it goes from Mocanal to Valverde and then downhill to the seawater pools of La Caleta. A refreshing swim in the Atlantic is also possible. The next stage destination is the small tapa bar from the harbor, and then the seaside resort Timijiraque with its small black lava sand beach. The little-used coastal road passes the scattered houses of Barranqueras and leads to the Parador tunnel with the only traffic light on the island. Final break in the hotel cafeteria overlooking the Roque de Bonanza. Return to the hotel with 2 different buses. (about 34km and 500hm)
th day: On El Hierro, the former “old end of the world”, a visit to the Zero meridian and the lighthouse is not missing. Again it goes by buses via Frontera to Pozo de la Salud, the only spa hotel in the Canary Islands. First it goes pleasantly through block lava fields to the west, before an ascent into the mountains begins. A steep serpentine road winds up to the imposing, curved juniper trees, from which then it turns to the Faro (lighthouse). There is also the old landing place for the emigrant ships, today a quaint swimming area. After the picnic, drive back to the "mineral spring", handover of the bike, and back by bus to Mocanal. (approx. 36km and 1,100hm)
th day: Another tour that starts and ends directly at the hotel. El Hierro is surprisingly an island with no lakes, streams or rivers. The rescue in the dry summers was legendary "Rain tree" in a particularly damp ravine that rained down several hundred liters of water every day. The first villages on the island emerged around the tree and the High plateau is still important today Pasture area for cattle, sheep and horses. It is therefore reminiscent of landscapes like in Yorkshire or Cornwall with its innumerable stone walls. In one of the farmer's restaurants you can fortify yourself with a chickpea stew, for example. (approx. 26km and 400hm)
th day: The last bike tour leads us in the south of the island. Young volcanic slag fields are reminiscent of a lunar landscape. The start is on the edge of the pine forest, in the almond and fig village El Pinar. From here a well-developed road leads to the fishing port and the best diving area in Europe, La Restinga. Halfway through it is recommended on Volcanological visitor center Stop at that reports everything about the 2011 undersea volcanic eruption. In Restinga, the promenade is ideal for a break before going up a bit to the Bay of Tacorón to get to one of the most beautiful bathing spots on the island. With the bike it is surprisingly easy to get back to El Pinar in turbo gear. (approx. 60km. and 1.400hm)
Day 8: Unfortunately today we have to say goodbye to El Hierro and its friendly residents, if no individual extension was requested. Transfer to the port or airport and onward journey to Tenerife or Gran Canaria.
